Looking back at my Medieval Books post at the beginning of the year, I’m pretty pleased that we made it through most of them! Here are the books about Medieval Europe that we did as read-alouds or audiobooks, for my kids aged 7 through 12.
Of course, I continued to find more books and add them to my list over the course of the year!
Read to the end to find out what we DIDN’T get to read!

Devotionals and Inspiration for Kids
Knights in Training
Written by a homeschool mom, the intended audience for this book is the mother of boys! I found that paragraphs here and there were lovely to read out loud to the kids (boys and girls alike!) At the end of the book, Heather Haupt also includes a list of additional books a that matches her code of chivalry. We had already read most of them, and the paragraphs that I read aloud often alluded to those stories.
If you scroll towards the bottom of this page on her website, you can print her code of chivalry which I printed out to display on our wall. You can also access her additional Book List for the Chivalry Challenge!
Raising a Modern-Day Knight has also been recommended to me, but it is specifically written for fathers, so I decided not to add to my husband’s TBR list!
The Bravest Heart
My mother gifted this to my 8-year old son. He enjoys reading the daily devotional, which is short enough for him to read alone. The medieval theme is fun, but limited to the graphics.
Rules for a Knight
I bought this to give to my 13-year old boys and completely forgot! It’s not too late. This is a small book filled with inspiration and encouragement.

Finally, the list of books that I didn’t finish, or were late additions to our list!
